About the position

As a Client WAN Network Engineer at Fiserv, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between Fiserv's business units and their customers. Your primary responsibility will be to design and deploy remote customer network connectivity solutions that enable the seamless consumption of all Fiserv services. This position requires a collaborative approach, working closely with clients to understand their specific needs, providing technical support, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction. You will be part of a dynamic team that is focused on innovation and enhancing network architecture to support the growing demands of the business. In this role, you will engage with various network engineering teams, network operations, and development teams to brainstorm and implement automation ideas that will improve network deployments. Your contributions will not only increase productivity but also accelerate time-to-market for new services, ultimately driving greater revenue for the company. You will be at the forefront of leading technologies and innovations, playing a key role in expanding Fiserv's network capabilities. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing WAN solutions tailored to meet client requirements, which involves configuring routers, switches, and firewalls. You will also monitor WAN performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the reliability and security of the network. Additionally, you will participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to guarantee network resilience, ensuring that Fiserv can maintain its high standards of service delivery even in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy remote customer network connectivity solutions for Fiserv services.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical support.
  • Work with network engineering, operations, and development teams to enhance network deployments through automation.
  • Develop and implement WAN solutions, including configuring routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor WAN performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure network reliability and security.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure network resilience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in WAN Engineering on large scale enterprise class networks.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Layer 3 protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) route distribution and router filtering.
  • 2+ years of experience in software development specifically in Python, GIT, Ansible, and YAML.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.
  • Experience with various network solutions (SDWAN, MPLS, IPsec, S2S, DMVPN) and Layer 2 protocols (HSRP, VRRP).
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures.
  • Familiarity with load balancers and firewall configurations.
