About the position

As a Climate Impact Project Coordinator, you will be a vital force in the global fight for a healthy climate, working with Climate Impact Corps to advance local environmental solutions. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in their communities and addressing the pressing challenges of climate change. You will serve at a nonprofit organization or public agency dedicated to preserving and protecting the environment. Your primary responsibilities will include planning and leading projects that help communities mitigate and adapt to climate change, thereby increasing the reach and effectiveness of site services and addressing community needs. In this position, you will receive comprehensive training, professional development, and ongoing support from experienced staff members. You will facilitate outreach and education efforts by sharing your experiences and knowledge with community members. Your projects may include a variety of activities such as planting and inventorying trees, designing and managing nursery gravel beds, conducting virtual and on-site solar opportunity assessments, installing energy-saving materials, and organizing sustainability projects. This role is not just about executing tasks; it’s about inspiring others and fostering a culture of environmental stewardship within the community. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Dependable with a history of good attendance.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Capable of setting a pace and maintaining a service schedule based on agreed hours commitment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), internet searches, data entry, email communication, databases, and videoconferencing.
  • Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
  • 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
  • Able to successfully complete a background check.
