About the position

The Climate & Sustainability Data Analyst at First Horizon Bank will serve as the technical subject matter expert on climate disclosures and will play a crucial role in GHG emissions reporting and climate data analysis. This position involves collecting, managing, and improving sustainability and climate data, analyzing trends, and coordinating with internal partners to enhance capabilities in measuring climate risks and opportunities. The analyst will also assist in the verification of emissions and sustainability reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, manage, and improve First Horizon's sustainability and climate data.
  • Analyze sustainability and climate data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and prepare internal and external reports.
  • Coordinate with internal partners to develop additional capabilities and tools to identify, measure, and monitor climate risks and opportunities.
  • Play a critical role in the development and implementation of the organization's Scope 3 measurement and reporting.
  • Coordinate the collection of GHG data; calculate GHG emissions, evaluate, quality assurance, and report GHG emissions across all scopes.
  • Maintain sustainability-related documentation, policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders, data owners, and third-party contractors for collecting, calculating, and evaluating GHG emissions across all scopes, including financed emissions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to proactively identify, analyze, and assess the impact of climate risks and policies.
  • Identify emerging climate-related issues, assess gaps, and provide recommendations to address them.
  • Support GHG verification activities, emerging issues, climate and environmental risk assessments, and data inventory.
  • Manage projects and schedules as necessary to meet regulatory deadlines.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years practical experience with greenhouse gas accounting, GHG protocol, relevant frameworks, and climate-related regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of reporting frameworks (TCFD, CDP), Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF), and emerging climate regulations including California SB253 & SB 261 and SEC Climate rule.
  • GHG accounting certification (preferred).
  • Banking experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Experience and knowledge of sustainability reporting software and data management systems.
  • Experience with portfolio and climate scenario analysis.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience managing large groups of operational data at a detailed or summary level to support emission calculation and reporting.
  • Demonstrated sound analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are loosely defined and/or where information is available but must be further analyzed.
  • Strong team orientation, demonstrating a high level of collaboration and cooperation within functional and cross-functional teams.
