About the position

The Climate Training Analyst Technician at MacDill AFB, FL, is responsible for managing complex training projects in support of Department of Defense (DoD) clients. This role involves providing cybersecurity technical expertise, enhancing training programs, and integrating climate threat assessments to support Special Operations Forces (SOF) in adapting to various climatic conditions. The technician will analyze existing training programs, develop predictive modeling capabilities, and ensure effective information management to foster efficiencies in government business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with clients and provide cybersecurity technical expertise.
  • Lead teams to assess performance and recommend enhancements for training and operational efficiency.
  • Provide regional climate expertise to enhance the commander's understanding of climatic impacts on training and readiness.
  • Integrate climate threat assessments into decision-making processes.
  • Develop predictive modeling capabilities to monitor environmental conditions during operations and training.
  • Analyze training programs and equipment to improve SOF's operational capabilities in extreme climate conditions.
  • Utilize data analytics to update military operational needs in future climates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant area (climatology, meteorology, operations research, etc.) or equivalent experience.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Recent military experience relevant to position requirements.
  • Understanding of staff officer roles within HQ USSOCOM or similar military HQs.
  • Knowledge of USSOCOM missions and core activities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in oral and written communications.
  • Familiarity with strategic-level planning and operational design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with JTIMS, DRRS, JLLIS, and MS Office Suite.
