About the position

The Clinical Engineer 3 position at UC Davis is a staff role focused on providing support for computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and overseeing the planning, integration, and implementation of medical equipment projects. This role requires collaboration with clinical engineering and IT teams to ensure the effective use of medical devices in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Medical Equipment Planning, Integration, and Implementation (50%)
• Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) support (25%)
• Acting as a Clinical Engineering/IT Liaison (20%)
• Other Clinical Engineering Work (5%)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent experience/training
• At least two years of experience in a healthcare facility, medical device manufacturer, or other medical device-based business
• Knowledge of human physiology and anatomy

Nice-to-haves

• Six Sigma or PMI Certification
• Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or CCE-eligible
• Master's degree in biomedical engineering
• Project management experience
• Knowledge of computer systems and communications technology (wired and wireless)
• Ability to code in at least one programming language
• Working knowledge of UNIX
