About the position

The Clinic Device Nurse is a specialized registered nurse responsible for managing the care of patients with implantable cardiac devices. This role requires expertise in cardiovascular care, advanced heart diseases, and the ability to assess and triage patients with various conditions and devices. The nurse will coordinate daily operations of the device clinic, ensuring efficient clinic flow and prompt responses to patient needs while documenting evaluations and device testing outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to individuals with implantable cardiac devices.
  • Manage remote transmissions of devices and monitor device recalls.
  • Perform basic device triage and vital signs assessments.
  • Coordinate and maintain daily operations of the device clinic.
  • Document evaluation outcomes of visits, including summaries of device testing in Epic/Scottcare.
  • Troubleshoot device-related issues and recognize normal vs. abnormal device function.

Requirements

  • Current Nursing License (RN)
  • BLS & ACLS certification
  • 5 to 7 years of RN experience
  • 2 to 4 years of PCCU/CCU/ICU/Cath Lab experience or 2 to 5 years in a Device Clinic setting
  • Advanced medical and cardiology terminology knowledge
  • Advanced EKG rhythm interpretation skills
  • Ability to verbalize and demonstrate knowledge of pacemaker and defibrillator systems
  • Experience with system analysis, measurement, programming, and troubleshooting principles
  • Scottcare/Epic experience strongly desired.
