About the position

The Clinic Operator serves as the initial point of contact in a clinic setting, responsible for performing check-in/check-out functions and booking patient appointments. This role emphasizes compliance, confidentiality, and the promotion of the organization's mission and philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Books appointments utilizing computer system and confirms demographic information.
  • Greets patients and checks them in on the computer system.
  • Verifies insurance eligibility using online resources.
  • Ensures appropriate paperwork is complete and scans insurance cards if applicable.
  • Collects payments from patients, posts amounts, and balances drawer for end of day deposit.
  • Prints face sheets, receipts, and other necessary documents.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of emergencies, messages, and patient arrivals.
  • Confirms patient appointments in advance.
  • Runs reschedule reports and books rescheduled appointments as necessary.
  • Verifies Worker's Compensation claims and ensures paperwork is complete.
  • Assists patients with setting up payment plans and issues receipts for payment.
  • Books follow-up appointments and adheres to company policies including OSHA and HIPAA compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Experience using a PC in a Windows environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a medical setting.
