About the position
The Clinic Staff RN at Kearney Regional Medical Center is responsible for providing technical nursing care and assisting physicians in their medical practice. This role focuses on caring for patients who are chronically or acutely ill, ensuring their health is maintained or restored under supervision. The position requires a commitment to quality patient care and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical nursing care through interviews, assessments, and vital signs.
- Administers medications topically, orally, injection, or intravenously as ordered by the physician.
- Administers treatments within his/her scope of practice as ordered by the physician.
- Assists physicians with examinations and procedures as needed, preparing patients for procedures per protocol.
- Arranges diagnostic procedures and obtains prior authorizations.
- Participates in obtaining and meeting quality measures.
- Maintains a clean, safe patient environment and monitors equipment to ensure it is in proper working condition.
- May assist physician with minor surgery.
- Answers telephone and responds to patient concerns or questions, intervening to solve patient problems.
- Maintains appropriate records, assists with coding and patient charges.
- Collects and properly disposes of selected specimens.
- Provides appropriate education to patients and families.
- Assists with filling and refilling prescriptions per doctor's orders.
- Cooperates with other personnel to maintain good employee and public relations.
- Informs supervisor or clinic Director of concerns or problems.
- Attends required meetings and maintains personal growth and development through workshops and in-service meetings.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current Nebraska license.
- Requires knowledge of technical nursing procedures.
- Must be CPR certified.
