About the position
The Clinic Technician position at UAB Medicine involves providing specialized services in an urgent care setting, requiring interaction with patients and collaboration with the healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet and escort patients from the waiting area to treatment rooms.
- Perform required medical testing such as vital signs and urine specimen collection as directed.
- Answer and document patient phone calls regarding medical questions, test results, and medications.
- Ensure patient rooms and instruments are clean and stocked with required supplies.
- Order and maintain clinic supplies.
- Perform pre-load responsibilities based on clinic needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and advanced knowledge of PC applications, software, and database management.
- Ability to perform math and bookkeeping skills.
- Exceptional telephone and customer service skills.
- Knowledgeable of English grammar and punctuation.
- Current CPR certification or must obtain within 30 days of employment.
Nice-to-haves
- One year experience in a medical setting.
