About the position
The Clinical Adjunct for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Manhattanville College is responsible for supervising nursing students in a clinical environment. This role involves evaluating student performance, grading clinical assignments, and creating a supportive learning atmosphere that caters to diverse student needs. The instructor will develop lesson plans, provide feedback on student progress, and collaborate with faculty to support at-risk students.
Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing students in the clinical environment.
- Evaluate clinical performance and grade all clinical assignments.
- Create a dynamic, learner-centered environment based on educational theory and evidence-based practices.
- Develop engaging lesson plans and ensure relevant learning resources are available.
- Apprise students of their progress at mid-term and establish mutual learning plans for those not meeting expectations.
- Notify lead faculty and program chair of at-risk students weekly.
- Complete final evaluations of student performance and submit grades on time.
Requirements
- Master's degree in nursing or related field required.
- Current RN license in NY and/or CT with no disciplinary actions.
- Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience.
- Current CPR certification and up-to-date immunizations.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles.
Nice-to-haves
- 1 year of teaching experience preferred.
