About the position

The Clinical Administrative Assistant for Liver Transplants at University Hospitals provides essential clinical, reception, communication, and guest relations support. This role is focused on maintaining efficient operations within the assigned area, ensuring effective communication, and fostering positive relationships with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the patient record in written and/or electronic format.
  • Facilitates communication and efficient unit/department operations.
  • Orders supplies as needed.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and use of available resources and communication tools.
  • Maintains awareness and control of the reception desk and surrounding area.
  • Initiates and maintains positive relationships and professional demeanor with patients, customers, and coworkers.
  • Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.
  • Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
  • 1+ years of experience in a clinical setting with secretarial experience or 1+ years of experience in secretarial work (Required)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to de-escalate tense situations in a calm and constructive manner (Required proficiency)
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to grow and adapt to new technologies (Required proficiency)
