About the position

The Clinical Analyst II position at The George Washington University Hospital involves participating in the technological enablement of clinical and business units as part of the clinical information systems team. The role includes managing the implementation and utilization of clinical and business applications, serving as a liaison between clinical and business departments and IT, and performing various duties related to data management and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Manage implementation and utilization of clinical and business applications in the non-IT domain.
  • Enable clinical and business sides of the organization with technology-oriented tools.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical and business departments and IT.
  • Perform liaison duties associated with implementation, support, and maintenance of clinical information systems.
  • Provide problem tracking, resolution, and ongoing enhancement requests.
  • Participate in systems testing, workflow redesign, and change management.
  • Provide continual education to facility employees and physicians.
  • Perform data analysis and work with the Data Management team in collecting and analyzing data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer/Information Science or Healthcare with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a healthcare, clinical, or health IT setting, or a Master's degree in health information technology field with 3 years of experience.
  • Professional clinical degree.
  • Implementation experience with hospital clinical applications.
  • Previous experience in nursing or clinical informatics preferred.
  • Certification in data management, data analysis, data presentation, BI, ETL, etc., is highly preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Siemens, Opus, or other clinical systems.
  • Advanced working knowledge of clinical information systems (Cerner preferred).
  • Demonstration of strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
