About the position

The Clinical Nutritionist is a vital member of the Genetics team, responsible for providing expert nutritional assessment and treatment to patients with inborn errors of metabolism. This role involves close collaboration with physicians to deliver nutrition interventions and education tailored to the clinical assessment, goals, preferences, and readiness of patients and their families, supporting the overall care plan.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert nutritional assessment and treatment to patients with inborn errors of metabolism.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians to develop nutrition interventions.
  • Educate patients and families based on clinical assessments and individual needs.
  • Support the overall plan of care through effective nutrition strategies.
  • Utilize knowledge of pediatric growth and development in assessments.

Requirements

  • Registered dietitian with a Master's of Science degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with inherited metabolic disorders.
  • Strong background in biochemistry and/or genetics preferred.
  • Education in child growth and development required.
  • Experience with public health agencies and programs preferred.
  • Comfortable with computerized data analysis and preparation of educational materials.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification as a Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian preferred.
  • Current BLS certification.
