About the position
The Clinical Assessor role involves performing initial assessments and comprehensive evaluations to determine client needs and eligibility for service programs. The position requires making preliminary diagnoses and recommending appropriate treatment options while ensuring compliance with regulations. The Clinical Assessor will work under the supervision of the Clinical Director and will have continuous contact with clients and clinical staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial assessments and make diagnoses.
- Assist qualified mental health professionals in planning and implementing Individual Service Plans.
- Review clinical files to ensure compliance with all regulations.
- Submit authorizations to appropriate insurance providers.
- Maintain appropriate clinical records and communicate effectively with the program director and clinical staff.
Requirements
- Must be licensed (or in residency) by Virginia State Board of Counseling or Social Work as LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or LSATP.
- Minimum of two years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and family issues.
- Excellent knowledge of diagnosing and treatment planning.
- Good knowledge of assessment instruments.
- Demonstrated skill in treating individuals and families.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with individuals and staff.
