The Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Surgery - Program Director of Orthopedic Surgery position at OSU COM involves leadership and teaching responsibilities for orthopedic residents, alongside a clinical practice at the OSU Medical Center. The role requires active participation in clinical research, service, and scholarly activities, necessitating a strong clinical background to qualify for faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and teach orthopedic surgery residents.
  • Maintain a clinical orthopedic practice at OSU Medical Center.
  • Engage in clinical research and scholarly activities.
  • Collaborate with existing surgery and orthopedic surgery faculty.

Requirements

  • D.O. or M.D. degree.
  • Eligible for licensure in the State of Oklahoma.
  • Board Certification by the AOA or ABMS.
  • Appropriate staff privileges at OSU Medical Center.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of clinical practice in the specialty post-residency/fellowship.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an associate program director of an ACGME-accredited orthopedic surgery program, or three (3) years of participation as an active faculty member in an AOA or ACGME-accredited orthopedic surgery residency program.
