About the position

The Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (Acute) - Med/Surg - Nights at Orlando Health is responsible for leading shift operations within the clinical setting to ensure high-quality patient care, exceptional customer experience, and optimal patient flow. This role involves managing staffing assignments, coordinating patient care, and supporting frontline team members while ensuring compliance with established policies and standards. The position requires collaboration with various healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes and maintain a regulatory-ready environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage staffing assignments for oncoming and off-going shifts based on patient acuity and skill set of team members.
  • Coordinate patient flow by working with Administrative Supervisors, Care Coordinators, and Discharge Planners.
  • Monitor the overall status of patients and closely observe seriously ill patients.
  • Coordinate and participate in the delivery of patient care ensuring compliance with physician orders and established policies.
  • Serve as a resource supporting frontline team members and providers.
  • Enhance customer experience by conducting Nurse Leader rounds and addressing patient/family and physician complaints.
  • Participate in and/or lead safety huddles.
  • Promote change and problem-solving within the team.
  • Assess equipment needs to ensure staff have the necessary tools for patient care.
  • Assist with retention strategies for new team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting preferred.
