About the position

The Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry position at OSU Medicine involves providing clinical services in both inpatient and outpatient settings, teaching medical students and residents, and engaging in clinical research. The role requires a strong clinical background to qualify for faculty appointment and emphasizes compassionate care and excellent service in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform psychiatric evaluations, consultations, and treatment within the OSU Medicine system.
  • Teach medical students and residents in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
  • Engage in clinical research and service activities as required.
  • Collaborate with existing Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences faculty.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Osteopathy or Medical Doctor with a focus in Psychiatry or a related field.
  • Eligibility for licensure in the State of Oklahoma.
  • Board certification by the AOA or ABMS, or board eligibility.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in practice management and effective planning.
  • Proficiency in operating electronic medical records.
