About the position

The Clinical Assistant plays a vital role in patient care by preparing individuals of all ages for examinations and assisting healthcare providers during procedures. The Clinical Assistant is responsible for coordinating medical functions, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients to exam rooms and take medical histories.
• Measure and record vital signs.
• Assist with exams and procedures as requested by the Provider.
• Maintain and order stock in exam rooms and medical supply inventories.
• Schedule procedures and surgeries, obtaining pre-certification as necessary.
• Clean treatment rooms between patients and at the end of the day.
• Properly clean and store all equipment used in patient treatment.
• Dispose of toxic waste in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Record and distribute sample medication appropriately.
• Maintain confidentiality and discuss patient data only with authorized personnel.

Requirements

• Must have completed a certified/registered medical assistant program or accredited licensed practical nurse training program.
• Two years of recent experience in a clinical setting, preferably one year in a physician office or outpatient clinic.
• Current Indiana Licensure required.
