About the position
The Clinical Assistant at Relief Mental Health plays a vital role in supporting mental health providers by performing essential patient care tasks, including taking vital signs and conducting point-of-care testing. This position requires a compassionate individual who is detail-oriented and eager to assist patients and their families, ensuring a high standard of care and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist visitors and patients when they arrive at the office
- Review all patient paperwork and mental health assessments
- Assist with phone calls from patients
- Coordinate daily administrative activities, including scheduling and entering patient data in the EHR system
- Patient check-in and check-out, rooming patients, and maintaining patient medical records
- Preparation and upkeep of exam and treatment rooms
- Obtain and record patient medical histories, test results, and other information for medical records
- Assist providers with performing basic vital signs and point of care testing
- Assist providers with pharmacy calls regarding prescription questions and issues
- Assist in prior authorizations for medications
- Print and fax documents as needed
- Follow office workflow procedures to ensure maximum efficiency
- Deliver compassionate support and assistance to patients and families
- Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with electronic medical health care record system preferred, not required
Nice-to-haves
- Phlebotomy experience preferred but not required
- Previous experience with EHR systems - Kareo is a plus
- Previous experience with Google Drive
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized
