About the position
The Clinical Behavioral Health Specialist will be part of a dynamic team serving youth in a therapeutic residential environment, primarily responsible for delivering therapeutic services on weekends. This role involves providing individual and group therapy, assisting with crisis de-escalation, case management, and supporting program activities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individual and group therapy to youth in a therapeutic setting.
- Assist milieu staff in de-escalating youth in crisis situations.
- Provide case management services to youth and their families.
- Develop and implement plans of care, evaluating and adapting them as necessary.
- Communicate with various agencies and organizations to coordinate effective behavioral health services.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure appropriate service plans are in place.
- Plan, direct, and evaluate the work of staff, providing technical guidance and supervision.
- Prepare program budget requests and oversee the use of approved program funds.
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and departmental goals in program development.
- Maintain comprehensive clinical records, including progress notes and reports.
Requirements
- Possession of a Delaware clinical license for independent practice or a clinical license from another U.S. state eligible for Delaware licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC-MH, LMFT, or Psychologist).
- One year of clinical experience working with children or adolescents.
- One year of experience with clinical documentation, including narrative report writing.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
