As a Clinical Computer Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in implementing and maintaining the Perioperative and OR Scheduling databases, including HSM, HBI, HEMM, HTM, and others. Your responsibilities will include testing and documenting all database modifications, entering inventory locations, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues in the operating room. You will also coordinate and provide computer training, perform global updates, and create resource maps for new physicians and procedures. Additionally, you will review items not found in the HSM database, enter new items according to policy, and perform OR charging functions as needed. Your role will involve acting as a liaison to Finance, ISD, and Materials, printing routine reports, and creating new computer reports as required. You will also review OR nursing data entry reports and ensure corrections are made as necessary. Adhering to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior is essential in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the Perioperative and OR Scheduling databases (HSM, HBI, HEMM, HTM, etc.)
  • Test and document all database modifications (upgrades, new implementations, etc.)
  • Enter inventory locations in HEMM
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems in the OR (HSM, HTM, PHS, PACS)
  • Coordinate and provide computer training
  • Perform global updates and update resource maps as needed
  • Assign procedures to surgeons based on credentialing
  • Create resource maps for new physicians and new/additional procedures as needed
  • Review all items not found in the HSM database and enter new items according to policy
  • Perform OR charging functions as needed
  • Review OR (Mediplex) charges before processing
  • Train employees to perform OR charging
  • Update charging procedures as needed
  • Act as a liaison to Finance, ISD, and Materials
  • Print routine reports and create new computer reports as needed
  • Review OR nursing data entry reports and make corrections as needed
  • Complete other duties and/or projects as assigned
  • Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior

Requirements

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs and graduation from approved nursing school
  • Operating Room Nurse experience
  • Working knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Office and ClinStar)
  • Knowledge of daily OR operations
  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum of 3-5 years Operating Room Nurse experience
