About the position

The Clinical Coordinator for the Nursing Program at Arapahoe Community College plays a pivotal role in securing clinical and practical experiences for nursing students. This full-time position is responsible for scheduling clinical rotations and monitoring student progress to ensure that all requirements are met during their time at various clinical and practical sites. The Clinical Coordinator will maintain accurate and current records and documentation required by these clinical sites in My Clinical Exchange, ensuring compliance and readiness for student placements. In addition to managing student schedules, the Clinical Coordinator will actively identify and cultivate partnerships with healthcare providers across a diverse range of service delivery models, including acute care, community mental health, long-term care, and rehabilitation. This role involves establishing and maintaining contracts with clinical sites for all Health and Public Services programs, thereby expanding the practicum options available to students at Arapahoe Community College. The Clinical Coordinator will attend provider meetings and foster relationships with partner sites to ensure a robust network of clinical opportunities. The position also entails preparing and maintaining student clinical manuals, conducting clinical orientations, and collecting and reporting data necessary for accreditation purposes. The Clinical Coordinator will monitor and maintain clinical contracts for various health programs at ACC, ensuring that all agreements are up-to-date and compliant with institutional and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Secure clinical and practical experiences for nursing students.
  • Schedule clinical rotations and monitor student progress.
  • Ensure all nursing student records and documentation are current in My Clinical Exchange.
  • Identify and cultivate healthcare provider partnerships across various service delivery models.
  • Establish and maintain contracts with clinical sites for Health and Public Services programs.
  • Attend provider meetings and maintain relationships with partner sites.
  • Prepare and maintain student clinical manuals.
  • Conduct clinical orientation for nursing students.
  • Collect and report data required for accreditation.
  • Monitor and maintain clinical contracts for various health programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a healthcare-related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry and/or education with knowledge of healthcare service delivery and regulations.
  • Experience working with contracts.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications and office automation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in an allied health field, education, or related field.
  • Certification or licensure in a healthcare profession.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on marketing abilities.
  • Knowledge of Desire2Learn (D2L), FISDAP, and My Clinical Exchange.
  • Experience teaching in a postsecondary setting.
  • Experience working in the healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of ACEN accreditation requirements and process.
