About the position

The Clinical Coordinator at DaVita plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate care to patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease in an outpatient dialysis center. This position involves coordinating patient care, ensuring safety and comfort, and building meaningful relationships with patients and their families. The role requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, overseeing a team of Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and collaborating with a small interdisciplinary team of clinicians.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate ESRD patient care and services, including tracking lab values and vital signs.
  • Ensure the clinical team delivers the highest level of care to patients, focusing on safety and comfort.
  • Build long-term relationships with patients and their families in an outpatient setting.
  • Oversee a group of patients with the support of PCTs, conducting patient observations and machine setup.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing a broad range of nursing skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • At least 18 months of registered nursing experience.
  • Dialysis Charge RN readiness approval by Clinical Nurse Manager or RN-licensed FA/GFA required.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (A.D.N) from an accredited school of nursing required; B.S.N preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) preferred.
  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Room (ER), or Medical Surgical (Med Surg) experience is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
