About the position

The Senior Database Administrator for Cardiology at Providence is a pivotal role responsible for safeguarding data as a critical resource and ensuring the seamless integration of data across various cardiovascular source and software modules. This position entails the development, maintenance, support, and enforcement of data standards across all cardiovascular (CV) modules and applications. The Senior Database Administrator will oversee the ongoing development and management of all CV computerized databases, which includes generating reports for clinical, quality, and administrative management purposes. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity and usability of data, which is vital for effective patient care and operational efficiency. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Senior Database Administrator will collaborate with clinical teams to understand their data needs and ensure that the database systems are aligned with clinical workflows. This includes working closely with healthcare professionals to implement clinical terminology and clinical information systems effectively within the healthcare environment. The position requires a strong understanding of database structures, data definitions, and data relationships, which are crucial for the successful management of health information. Responsibilities

  • Protect data as a resource and ensure integration of data across cardiovascular source and software modules.
  • Develop, maintain, support, and enforce data standards across all CV modules and applications.
  • Manage ongoing development and administration of all CV computerized databases.
  • Generate reports for clinical, quality, and administrative management purposes.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to understand data needs and align database systems with clinical workflows.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in clinical terminology and/or clinical information system implementation in a healthcare environment.
  • 3 years of experience working with database structures, data definitions, and data relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Health Information Management, Business, or a healthcare-related field.
  • Certification on the related product or group of products upon hire.
