About the position

Central Regional Hospital is currently seeking Clinical Dietitians to join our team. The primary purpose of the Clinical Dietitian is to coordinate all phases of nutrition care, which includes assessment, nutrition diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, and evaluation. This role also involves providing education and counseling to hospitalized patients as needed. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive the appropriate nutritional care tailored to their individual needs. These positions are full-time and come with the full State benefits package. The normal working hours for this role will vary between 7 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the expectation of rotating on-call weekends. Flexibility is essential to meet the hospital's needs, especially during adverse weather events, which will be discussed in detail during the interview process. Central Regional Hospital (CRH) is a state-of-the-art psychiatric facility located in Butner, NC. The hospital is situated in an area that offers four distinct seasons and mild temperatures, making it an ideal location for those who enjoy both the mountains and the beach. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all phases of nutrition care including assessment, nutrition diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Provide education and counseling to hospitalized patients as indicated.
  • Document care plans and progress notes in patients' medical records using established medical record procedures.
  • Utilize the Nutrition Care Process to assess, plan, counsel, and direct nutrition care based on accepted principles and practices of nutrition and dietetics.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and nutrition needs.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in foods and nutrition or a related area from an accredited institution and current registration in good standing by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, dietetics, or related area from an accredited institution and current registration in good standing by the CDR with two years of experience in a clinical dietary setting.
  • Knowledge of the principles of evidence-based nutrition therapy.
  • Knowledge of current trends and professional practices in Clinical Dietetics.
  • Ability to assess, plan, counsel, and direct nutrition care based on accepted principles and practices of nutrition and dietetics.
  • Skills in writing clear, concise entries using established medical record procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations regarding nutrition services in healthcare facilities.
