About the position

The Clinical Dietitian II at CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region is responsible for conducting nutritional assessments, developing intervention plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality nutrition care to patients. This role requires expertise in managing complex patient needs, particularly in acute care settings, and involves educating patients and families about nutrition-related issues. The position emphasizes a commitment to community health and the delivery of compassionate care.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts patient screening in accordance with specialized clinical guidelines for those at nutritional risk.
  • Implements targeted and specific nutrition interventions based on the specific medical condition.
  • Develops an intervention plan which includes appropriate feeding route, mode, and nutrition prescription unique to patient's specific needs.
  • Collaborates with the Food and Nutrition Services team to enhance patient experience.
  • Functions routinely with high acuity patients requiring advanced competency to provide expert level of care and nutrition therapy.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years acute hospital or similar experience working with patients in more complex levels of care.
  • Bachelor's Degree with completion of accredited dietetics program (ACEND).
  • Master's Degree required for 2024 (and beyond) graduates.
  • Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Valid dietitian licensure as required by state.

Nice-to-haves

  • Board Certification in Oncology, Pediatric, Renal, and Gerontological specialties.
  • Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (NBNSC) - ASPEN.
  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (NCBDE).
