About the position

The Clinical Director of Nursing Operations at MultiCare Health Systems is responsible for the administrative oversight and strategic direction of clinical, financial, and operational activities within a designated clinical unit or department. This role involves ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, managing resources effectively, and collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The Clinical Director plays a crucial role in setting nursing practice standards and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration within the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct clinical, financial, and operational activities of a defined clinical unit/department.
  • Design and facilitate the delivery of care and service to patients, staff, physicians, and community representatives.
  • Interpret and develop patient care standards and ensure quality health services are provided.
  • Manage resource allocation and fiscal responsibilities within the department.
  • Define and monitor nursing practice standards and ensure appropriate utilization of resources.
  • Support collaboration within Patient Services and among other divisions for desired patient outcomes.
  • Provide timely customer service and participate in achieving organizational goals and objectives.
  • Maintain extensive internal and external contacts with staff, management, physicians, vendors, and professional colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or obtained within five years from the initial date of hire.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Eight years of clinical experience and mastery of professional or technical role/function.
  • Five years of progressive experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Advanced degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, ARNP) preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a hospital-based leadership role.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
