About the position

The Clinical Education Manager at Galen College of Nursing plays a crucial role in coordinating and overseeing clinical experiences for nursing students. This position is responsible for ensuring that clinical learning activities align with educational objectives, facilitating faculty development, and maintaining relationships with clinical agencies to enhance student learning outcomes. The manager will also handle compliance documentation and support the continuous improvement of clinical education programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the operation of clinical experiences to provide clinical learning experiences according to established learning outcomes.
• Assist faculty and staff with preparation for clinical experiences including required clinical compliance documentation for students and faculty.
• Serve as faculty substitute in the facilitation of clinical experiences as needed.
• Assist with standardized clinical faculty and staff orientation and development in collaboration with campus and college leadership.
• Establish and maintain relationships with representatives of clinical agencies to maintain a variety of clinical sites appropriate for student learning outcomes.
• Oversee and assist with hiring, performance appraisal, and mentoring of clinical faculty and staff under the direction of campus leadership.
• Assist with negotiating and arranging clinical experiences in alignment with established clinical site selection criteria.
• Identify agencies for clinical experience that are appropriate to support course student learning outcomes.
• Oversee clinical site development and clinical scheduling to enhance nursing student experiences.
• Oversee the implementation of clinical experience surveys for continuous quality monitoring and improvement.
• Perform walkthrough surveys of clinical sites and experiences and report findings to college and campus leadership.
• Make recommendations for curriculum and clinical learning activity changes based on research and identified needs.
• Communicate and integrate college-wide policy and process changes regarding clinical learning standardization and implementation.
• Attend Student Advisory Committee meetings and report feedback to college and campus leadership.
• Assist with the resolution of student and/or faculty concerns regarding clinical experiences.

Requirements

• Minimum qualification of an MSN, or a BSN with at least two (2) years' experience in clinical education.
• Unencumbered Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the applicable state.
• At least two (2) years of recent clinical experience.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to interpret learning experience needs of students and match them to the capabilities of clinical placement agencies.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with creativity and innovation.
• Proficient computer skills to collect and analyze data.
• Must agree to obtain CNEcl certification within one (1) year of acceptance of position.
