About the position

The Clinical Education Manager at Galen College of Nursing plays a pivotal role in enhancing the educational experience of nursing students by overseeing and coordinating clinical learning opportunities. This position is essential for ensuring that students enrolled in prelicensure nursing programs receive high-quality clinical experiences that align with established learning outcomes. The Clinical Education Manager is responsible for negotiating and arranging clinical experiences, which involves collaborating with various clinical agencies to secure appropriate sites for student learning. This role also includes providing oversight of the clinical experience, ensuring that standardized clinical learning activities are effectively integrated into the curriculum, and that student evaluations are conducted appropriately. In addition to coordinating clinical experiences, the Clinical Education Manager assists faculty and staff in preparing for these experiences, which includes managing required clinical compliance documentation and facilitating facility-specific orientation requirements. The manager may also serve as a faculty substitute when necessary, ensuring that clinical experiences are conducted smoothly and effectively. The Clinical Education Manager is also involved in the hiring, performance appraisal, and mentoring of clinical faculty and staff, working closely with campus leadership to ensure that all clinical educators are well-prepared and supported. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying suitable clinical agencies that align with course objectives and collaborating with campus leadership to create valuable clinical learning opportunities. Continuous quality monitoring and improvement are integral to this role, as the manager oversees the implementation of clinical experience surveys and conducts walkthrough surveys of clinical sites to assess their effectiveness. The Clinical Education Manager is expected to communicate and integrate college-wide policy changes regarding clinical learning and to attend Student Advisory Committee meetings to provide feedback for ongoing improvement. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for both students and faculty, reflecting the core values of Galen College of Nursing, which include inclusivity, character, accountability, respect, and excellence.
