About the position

The Clinical Engineer III at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and verification of complex biomedical equipment and systems. This role operates independently without technical supervision and serves as an advisor to clinical and administrative staff regarding the safe use and operation of clinical equipment. The position also involves mentoring other associates and contributing to departmental improvements.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and verify the performance of complex biomedical equipment and systems.
• Serve as an advisor to administrative, medical, and clinical staff on the safe use and proper operation of clinical equipment.
• Develop specifications for the selection of new equipment.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database, including inventory and service history.
• Discuss equipment status and functionality with clinicians.
• Mentor other associates and contribute to department improvement.

Requirements

• Five years of experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment or equivalent experience.
• Associate degree in a related field of study or equivalent military training.
• Three years of experience in a relevant role.
• Valid Driver's License.
