About the position

The Clinical Engineering Asset Coordinator maintains and assists with managing the operating aspects of the Clinical Engineering and Erlanger Medical Equipment procurement, incoming inspection, inventory management and disposition functions. Responsibilities include the maintenance of records and databases (CMMS) containing information regarding medical equipment. To include documenting make, model, serial number, warranty, purchase cost, PO, network information, software information, PHI capabilities, owning department, services agreements etc. for the assets. As part of those responsibilities, the Clinical Engineering Asset Coordinator will work with CE managers, supervisors, technicians, project managers and other CE team members to ensure the integrity of the procurement, licenses, warranties, services agreements and other pertinent information for the organization's medical equipment are maintained and regulatory requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Helps manage the operations of the CE procurement, inventory management and disposition functions.
  • Manages the maintenance of records and databases (CMMS) containing information regarding medical equipment.
  • Documents make, model, serial number, warranty, purchase cost, PO, network information, software information, PHI capabilities, owning department, services agreements etc. for the assets.
  • Performs incoming inspections, places asset tags and other appropriate labels on equipment and documents asset information appropriately in CMMS database.
  • Ensures entry of assets into CMMS database for tracking is accurate and incoming inspections and dispositions are documented properly.
  • Set-up, stage and deliver equipment to various locations throughout Erlanger.
  • Helps with moving pallets of equipment in keeping staging area organized.
  • Responsible for disposition of equipment using company process and documentation of disposition and PHI removal if necessary.
  • Helps create and keeps updated Capital Medical Equipment replacement plan.
  • Tracks quality throughout the asset's lifecycle.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma.
  • 5 years in Procurement and/or Clinical Engineering related field.
  • Capable of solving highly complex requests.
  • Capability of working independently setting own direction.
  • Proficiency in utilizing a Windows-based PC and standard office software such as MS Office, Outlook and internet browsers.
  • Ability to think critically, assess input on requests and develop possible solutions.
  • Proven strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidate should be able to lift up to 40-50 lbs.
  • Should be able to accurately enter information into a computer system.
  • Ability to move quickly between different tasks and responsibilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree or higher in Clinical Engineering, Healthcare or electronics related field.
  • 7 years in Procurement and/or Clinical Engineering related field.
