About the position

The Clinical Engineering Technician is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on both patient and non-patient care equipment in accordance with established standards. This role involves calibrating machines and providing technical assistance to equipment users, as well as mentoring junior members of the department. The technician is expected to maintain proper documentation for all activities and oversee the correct installation of new equipment. Additionally, the technician will perform preventive maintenance inspections, safety tests, calibrations, and repairs on the equipment as necessary. In this position, the technician may install, adjust, maintain, and repair biomedical equipment as needed. They will also be responsible for testing, evaluating, and assigning SMI control device numbers to all new medical and laboratory equipment prior to its use. Troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating patient, lab, and research equipment are key responsibilities of this role. The technician will provide advice and guidance to junior biomedical engineering specialists and will evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience required.
