Working within a collaborative team environment, the Clinical Exercise Physiologist will engage with medical directors, registered nurses, dietitians, respiratory therapists, and fellow exercise physiologists to establish rehabilitation goals and develop individualized treatment plans. This position requires a leadership role in guiding exercise prescriptions and progressions, ensuring that each patient's unique needs are met. The physiologist will also be responsible for understanding and pursuing program performance metrics to guarantee optimal outcomes for all patients, ranging from young adults to geriatric populations. Responsibilities

  • Provide multidisciplinary rehabilitative care to cardiac and pulmonary patients.
  • Assess patients' exercise, educational, and behavioral needs.
  • Evaluate patient conditions including strength, endurance, and flexibility.
  • Teach patients to reduce falls through balancing routines.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to establish rehabilitation goals and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Assume a leadership role within the team as an exercise specialist guiding exercise prescription and progression.
  • Designate specified exercise modalities for the patient population through individual assessment.
  • Understand and pursue program performance metrics to ensure best outcomes for each patient.
  • Respond to the unique needs of patients across all ages, from young adults to geriatrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Physical Education, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in a cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation setting strongly preferred.
  • Currently holds Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification from ACSM or Certified Cardiac Rehab Professional (CCRP) from AACVPR, or must obtain within 18 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
