About the position

The Clinical Imaging Scientist/Physician will play a crucial role in late-stage product development by providing scientific and clinical input for pivotal clinical trials and studies in the respiratory and immunology therapeutic area. This position requires strong analytical skills to ensure the quality of imaging processes and outcomes, focusing on the integration of clinical imaging in trials and the implementation of imaging endpoints. The role involves collaboration with various teams and experts, ensuring optimal data collection and analysis while supporting standardized imaging protocols across development programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific leadership in the innovative design, execution, and interpretation of clinical trials.
  • Act as the lead medical imaging scientist/physician for drug projects in the respiratory and immunology portfolio.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized imaging protocols.
  • Provide imaging expert input for clinical studies with imaging-based endpoints, including protocol authoring and regulatory documents.
  • Support site selection, training, logistics, data collection, and problem-solving related to imaging.
  • Contribute to imaging charter development, radiology manuals, and data interpretation and reporting.
  • Educate and train teams on imaging endpoints within clinical development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Clinical Development, Biometrics, Clinical Operations, Patient Safety, Regulatory Affairs, and Medical Affairs.
  • Present scientific results and key information to multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • MD with imaging-related specialist diploma (radiologist) or imaging-related scientific doctoral degree (PhD).
  • Practical experience in clinical imaging modalities (CT, MRI, PET, SPECT).
  • Experience with quantitative image analysis in clinical or academic research settings.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 3 years of clinical experience from a specialist position (for MD).
  • Knowledge and experience in lung function and physiological assessments.
  • Experience supporting clinical trials, particularly Phase II and III, with an imaging component.
