About The Position

The Clinical Informaticist I at Erlanger Health System is responsible for analyzing department and user workflows, serving as a liaison between clinical staff and the IT team. This role involves learning system design life cycles, assisting in documentation processes, and improving patient safety and quality through data analysis. The individual will support clinical staff during system upgrades and provide guidance on workflows and informatics skills across various clinical settings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, IT, or Clinical Operations.
• 4 years of experience in Healthcare, IT, and/or Clinical Operations.
• Certification in one EPIC clinical module within 120 days of completed education.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and mentor users.

Nice To Haves

• Proficient in eChart EMR.
• Understanding of information technology and database applications.
• Experience in EMR installations.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular analysis of department and user workflows.
• Liaison between clinical staff/leadership and the information technology team.
• Assist in developing processes to meet documentation requirements for policies and procedures.
• Gather data and analyze information to improve patient safety and quality improvement.
• Support clinical staff during new practice go-live and system upgrades.
• Provide ongoing assistance in inpatient areas and outpatient physician practice offices.
• Learn and provide guidance on workflows and informatics skills.
