About the position

The Clinical Instructional Designer at EXL Health is responsible for designing and developing engaging instructional training programs tailored for the healthcare industry. This role involves collaborating with clinical and coding teams to create advanced educational courses that utilize a blend of live and e-learning formats. The designer will work closely with Subject Matter Experts to ensure that the training materials reflect current industry standards and effectively meet the needs of learners.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop engaging instructional training programs including curriculum, on-the-job training, training manuals, and e-learning.
  • Collaborate with Clinical and Coding teams to ensure materials reflect current industry standards and client needs.
  • Incorporate updates from industry organizations into curriculum.
  • Develop evaluation and feedback loops, continuously redesign content to ensure it matches the learners' needs and optimizes training outcomes.
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.
  • Employ adult learning theory principles utilizing multimedia tools and learner-centric strategies in content designs.
  • Create visual, audio and interactive learning tools.
  • Apply proven eLearning best practices for learner engagement and knowledge transfer.
  • Ensure the instructional integrity and educational effectiveness of all training materials produced.
  • Keep up to date on new training methods, legal training requirements, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 2-5+ years of experience developing clinical learning content and continuing education for nurses, coders, and/or physicians for healthcare industry topics.
  • Solid understanding of adult learning principles, learning theories (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and instructional design methodologies.
