About the position
The Clinical Instructor II in the Emergency Department at Long Island Community Hospital plays a crucial role in the orientation and education of new nursing personnel. This full-time position involves responsibilities such as assessing educational needs, planning and implementing educational activities, and evaluating their effectiveness. The instructor acts as an educator, facilitator, and leader, ensuring that nursing staff are well-prepared to provide high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Collect pertinent information related to the educational needs of nursing staff.
- Identify educational outcomes and objectives for learning activities.
- Plan educational activities in collaboration with content experts.
- Implement planned educational activities in a timely manner.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of educational activities and their effectiveness.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of Nursing Professional Development practice.
Requirements
- Current license to practice professional nursing in New York State.
- Bachelor's degree or BSN required; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible nursing acute care experience.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Knowledge of teaching and learning theories, principles of adult education, testing, measurement, and evaluation.
- High level of computer skills.
