  • Gather and document accurate and comprehensive data regarding clients' mental health concerns, including symptoms, duration, intensity, and functional impairment.
  • Assess clients' current level of distress, suicidality, or potential harm to self or others and ensure appropriate referral or intervention when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other members of the clinical team, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive assessment and treatment planning.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines and legal requirements related to privacy and information security.
  • Stay up to date with current research, diagnostic criteria, and best practices in the field of mental health assessment.
  • Provide support and education to clients regarding available treatment options, community resources, and self-care strategies.
  • Participate in regular case conferences and team meetings to discuss client progress, treatment plans, and collaborate on improving assessment processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
  • Previous experience conducting clinical interviews and assessments in a mental health or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
  • Solid knowledge of various diagnostic criteria, such as the DSM-5, and familiarity with different mental health disorders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport quickly and maintain a non-judgmental and empathetic approach.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to accurately document client information.
  • Knowledge of ethical guidelines and legal requirements related to confidentiality and privacy.
  • Proficient computer skills, including the use of electronic medical records or assessment software.
