About the position

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) at Montage Health is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory procedures across all disciplines to ensure accurate data is provided for health maintenance, diagnoses, treatment, and monitoring of medical conditions. This entry-level position involves guiding and training students and technical staff, maintaining quality control standards, and upholding high standards of customer service and patient confidentiality. The CLS works under the supervision of the department director, assistant director, and clinical supervisor, and is authorized to perform testing as per CLIA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical procedures and analyses in all laboratory disciplines.
• Guide, train, and mentor students and/or technical staff.
• Monitor and maintain quality control (QC) standards.
• Maintain high standards of conduct in customer service, appearance, and attitude.
• Use best judgment in interactions with patients, medical staff, and team members.
• Maintain patient confidentiality according to applicable laws and regulations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• One year of recent and relevant experience preferred.
• Computer application experience/proficiency required.
• Ability to communicate in English verbally and in writing required.
• Current licensure as CLS in the State of California.

Benefits

• Pay range based on years of applicable experience: $55.18 to $73.80 per hour.
• Hourly evening shift differential: $4.06.
• Hourly night shift differential: $6.09.
