About the position

The Clinical Laboratory Quality Manager at LabCorp is responsible for overseeing quality programs, systems, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements within the assigned laboratory or geographic region. This role involves leading internal and external audits, managing proficiency testing programs, and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives. The position promotes a culture of quality and collaborates with laboratory leadership to develop quality goals and objectives, ensuring regulatory readiness and compliance with standards such as CLIA, CAP, and ISO 15189.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of quality within the laboratory.
  • Partner with laboratory leadership to develop quality goals and objectives.
  • Develop positive working relationships with laboratory management and staff.
  • Ensure laboratories maintain current federal, state, and local licensure and accreditations.
  • Provide guidance for implementing policies related to regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Audit laboratories to identify quality issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee the proficiency testing program.
  • Formulate responses to accreditation and regulatory citations and complaints.
  • Provide education to laboratory staff on root cause analysis and investigation of non-conforming events.
  • Monitor outcomes of root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Facilitate process improvement activities.
  • Collect summary data for management reports on quality indicators and audit outcomes.
  • Participate in Quality meetings and regulatory initiatives.
  • Provide training on LabCorp quality policies and procedures.
  • Maintain communication between laboratories on quality-related issues.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Laboratory Science or related field.
  • 4-5 years of Clinical Laboratory experience.
