Responsibilities

  • Perform all clinical laboratory testing in various disciplines including hematology, blood bank, coagulation, serology, urinalysis, microbiology, and chemistry.
  • Conduct specimen collection and analysis on human blood, tissues, and body fluids.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation, ensuring quality assurance procedures are followed.
  • Consult with physicians and medical staff regarding patient laboratory results.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory accreditation standards and participate in external proficiency testing programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in biological science, chemistry, or mathematics from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist program accredited by NAACLS or a recognized accrediting body.
  • At least one year of specialized experience in clinical laboratory sciences or equivalent graduate education for GL-07 and GL-09 levels.
  • Certification as a medical technologist (generalist) from a nationally recognized credentialing agency is preferred.

  • Experience in quality control procedures and troubleshooting methods in a clinical laboratory setting.
