About the position

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist position at the Defense Health Agency involves performing advanced technical work in various laboratory services, including Immunology, Hematology, Microbiology, and Chemistry. The role requires ensuring accurate and timely reporting of laboratory test results, overseeing quality control systems, and educating medical and laboratory staff on testing protocols. This is a full-time, permanent position located at Tinker Air Force Base, with no remote work or telework options available.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced technical work in Immunology, Hematology, Microbiology, and Chemistry.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of laboratory test results.
• Establish metrics and analysis systems for timely actions and reviews.
• Oversee the quality control/improvement system for compliance.
• Educate medical and laboratory staff on testing protocols and specimen handling.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or graduate degree from an accredited college/university with courses in biological science, chemistry, and mathematics.
• Successful completion of a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist program accredited by NAACLS or a recognized accrediting body.
• At least one year of specialized experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Certification from a recognized credentialing agency as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Lab Scientist (MLS).
