About the position

The Clinical Manager for the Mother/Baby unit at Memorial Hermann Health System is responsible for leading the department, overseeing daily operations, managing and developing staff, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care. This role emphasizes the importance of creating exceptional experiences for patients and staff while adhering to safety and efficiency standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the Mother/Baby patient care department, including staffing and planning for continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, management team members, and business partners to address strategic initiatives and organizational goals.
  • Participate in ongoing evaluation of programs and process improvements to achieve desired client-centered outcomes.
  • Ensure the highest level of service and optimize the patient experience by considering diverse patient needs.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop staff while providing performance feedback and addressing issues as necessary.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards and ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Promote professional growth and development through mandatory education and skills competency requirements.
  • Model Memorial Hermann service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing or documented degree plan to complete a Bachelor's in Nursing.
  • Current State of Texas nursing license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support.
  • Three or more years of experience in a clinical area of practice and a minimum of one year in a supervisory or management role.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional certification in clinical area or management preferred.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements.
