About the position

The Clinical Manager of Program Operations will oversee the Indian Health Services Dementia Training and Education Resource (IDTER) project within the Department of Neurological Surgery. This role involves managing all aspects of project startup, implementation, and operations, ensuring culturally appropriate training for American Indian and Alaska Native communities. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to facilitate training development, compliance with regulations, and financial management of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed protocols for project startup and implementation.
  • Oversee overall design and make necessary adjustments based on site-specific needs.
  • Establish and monitor annual timelines and expected deliverables, setting monthly goals.
  • Lead key meetings with the leadership team, including status reporting and training planning.
  • Supervise the development of training curricula, manuals, and marketing materials.
  • Ensure compliance with sponsor, federal, state, and university guidelines.
  • Manage day-to-day operations including IRB submissions and protocol adherence.
  • Oversee the fiscal health of programs and develop comprehensive budgets for training programs.
  • Directly manage and supervise project staff, including recruitment and performance management.
  • Provide training to faculty and staff on best practices for managing pre-and post-award processes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Public Health, or a related health field.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing federally funded research studies or training projects.
  • At least 5 years of experience supervising staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years of experience in leading multi-site research studies or training programs.
  • Experience working with American Indian and Alaska Native communities.
  • Thorough knowledge of IRB and HIPAA regulatory requirements.
