Responsibilities
- Receive and prepare specimens according to standard protocols and procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests and calculations to provide data for diagnosis and treatment.
- Conduct quality control procedures and evaluate test performance and results.
- Calibrate, maintain, and monitor laboratory equipment used in analytical determinations.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures as appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient-related information.
- Adhere to regulatory compliance guidelines and maintain awareness of accreditation standards.
- Participate in performance improvement opportunities and support business development initiatives.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, clinical laboratory science, or related field.
- Current license in the state of practice (if applicable).
- ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist.
