About the position
The Clinical Nurse-Endoscopy position at UNC Health involves providing competent clinical nursing care in a home health setting. The role is accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director and focuses on coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process. The nurse will participate in patient education, evaluation of care, implementation of care plans, leadership activities, patient assessment, planning, and research to enhance nursing practice.
Responsibilities
- Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self and patients.
- Identifies expected patient outcomes and seeks guidance in revising care plans.
- Demonstrates competence in caring for patients with complex problems.
- Develops goals to promote professional growth and participates in unit goals and performance improvement activities.
- Recognizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care and assesses discharge needs.
- Collaborates with patients and families to prepare or update care plans.
- Reads relevant journals and brings ideas to staff for assessment.
Requirements
- Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
- One year of nursing experience caring for acute and chronically ill patients or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
