The Clinical Nurse II position in the Birthing Suites at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is a part-time role that requires a dedicated and skilled nurse to provide comprehensive care to patients in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) setting. The nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure the delivery of safe, timely, and appropriate quality patient care. This role involves performing physical assessments, implementing nursing interventions, managing pain, administering medications, collecting specimens, and addressing the nutritional and emotional needs of patients. Additionally, the nurse will be responsible for educating patients and their families about discharge needs and care plans. Utilizing the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices, the Clinical Nurse II will evaluate and adjust the nursing care process as necessary, consulting with appropriate resource personnel when faced with ethical, legal, or medical dilemmas. The nurse must maintain a thorough understanding of departmental and hospital standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and high-quality care. Other duties may be assigned as needed, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the healthcare team and the well-being of patients. To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and have at least three years of continuous employment as a full-time or part-time registered nurse in an acute care hospital. The role requires a current and valid Registered Nurse license in the State of California, along with certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Additionally, candidates must complete sixteen hours of lactation education and four hours of demonstrated bedside hands-on competencies within six months of hire to achieve Baby-Friendly designation. The position offers a competitive salary range of $52.76 to $81.76 per hour, depending on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.
