About the position

The Clinical Nurse plays a vital role in providing compassionate care to patients and their families while collaborating with healthcare teams. This position involves implementing physician orders, administering medications, and performing various nursing procedures to ensure high-quality patient care in a surgical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Implements physician orders and administers medications.
  • Starts IVs and performs treatments, procedures, and special tests.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
  • Assesses and evaluates patient needs and responses to care.
  • Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
  • Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
  • Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintains standards of professional nursing.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
  • Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools.
