About the position

The Clinical Nurse in the Medical/Surgical Hospitalist unit is responsible for providing compassionate care to patients and their families while collaborating with the healthcare team. This role involves implementing physician orders, administering medications, and performing various nursing procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Implements physician orders and administers medications.
• Starts IVs and performs treatments, procedures, and special tests.
• Documents treatment as required by company policy and regulations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
• Assesses and evaluates patient needs and responses to care.
• Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
• Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Administers over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
• Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
• Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintains standards of professional nursing.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Experience in a clinical nursing role, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
• Ability to assess patient needs and develop care plans.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
