About the position

The Clinical Nurse II position at Albany Medical Center involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a Medical/Surgical Hospitalist unit. Responsibilities

• Implements physician orders and administers medications.
• Starts IVs and performs treatments, procedures, and special tests.
• Documents treatment as required by company policy and regulations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions.
• Assesses and evaluates patient needs and responses to care.
• Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
• Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses.
• Administers over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
• Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for patients.
• Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintains professional nursing standards.

Requirements

• Current nursing license in New York State.
• Experience in a medical/surgical nursing environment.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
